BKT are delighted to support The Agricultural and Rural Centre
Mayor opens New Classroom for animal studying.
The Agricultural and Rural Centre is a Community Interest Centre built in Romiley Stockport, The Centre enables children and adults with disabilities to work with farming animals and on the land. We have horses, Alpaca's, Goats, chickens and lots of other animals. Our customers get to enjoy a hands on experience in a safe environment especially built for them by the community.
The new classroom donated by The Brian Kennedy Trust was opened by the Worshipful Mayor of Stockport on Saturday 18th October 2014. This wooden log cabin will help the participants to gain units of study in a large range of animal care, land studies and plant care. As a newly accredited AQA Centre, the Agricultural and Rural Centre can now offer over 120 different subjects to choose from.
Ceri Forth, the AQA Co-ordinator of the Agricultural and Rural Centre says “With our new classroom, participants from across Stockport can gain recognition for working with the animals. Some of our participants are already learning Pig Keeping, Horse care and chicken keeping to name a few.”
