DRAGONMOBILITY CHAIR FOR CHARLOTTE
The director of BKT, Linda Miles was attending a pantomime last year in Stoke-on-Trent where it was announced that a young lady in the audience, Charlotte Thom was raising funds for an essential new wheelchair. Charlotte was born with congenital muscular dystrophy and had outgrown her current wheelchair.
Linda met Charlotte after the show then visited her at home. She was so impressed with Charlotte’s abilities and artistic talent in already managing to raise £3000 to the cost of the chair, that she recommended to the Trustees that we help out with the balance needed of £17000. This was hastily approved and the custom- made chair was soon under way.
Charlotte is now the proud owner of her superb new chair which has made a huge difference to her life and will enable her to follow her dream of working with young children. Jonathan Wilkes, the star of both last and this years’ pantomime at the Regent Theatre, Hanley, was delighted to present the wheelchair to Charlotte.
